🎃 October half term is creeping up! See what’s on across the Peak District.
Grab your wellies, woolly hat, gloves, and glow sticks, and remember, remember the 5th of November! Or rather, remember these other dates as Bonfire Nights are held around the 5th November here in the Peak District.
Read on for the details of Bonfire Night and Firework events in and around the Peak District for this year. These are ordered by date of event.
1. Chatsworth Fireworks
Friday 30th and Saturday 31st October

Bonfire night at Chatsworth always happens a little earlier to coincide with October half term, and it’s back again this year with a blazing bonfire and two spectacular firework displays, including an earlier, gentler display designed especially for younger visitors. There will also be family entertainment and a selection of seasonal food and drinks available throughout the evening.
Gates open and entertainment: 6.00pm
Lighting of the bonfire: 6.45pm
Children’s firework display: 7.45pm
Grand finale firework display: 8.30pm
Entertainment finishes: 9.15pm
You can also add a pre-bonfire dinner in the Cavendish Restaurant at the Stables to your tickets. The two-course seasonal meal costs £55 for adults and £22 for children, and is served between 5pm and 7pm. Advance booking is required.
Children aged 3 and under go free; children aged 4 to 16 require a ticket. The event is extremely popular and is likely to sell out, so booking in advance is recommended.
2. Buxton Firework Spectacular
Sunday 1st November, from 3pm

The Buxton Firework Spectacular returns to Buxton Cricket Ground with two firework displays, an aerial drone show and plenty of family entertainment. There will also be hot food vendors, fairground rides, a bar, game stalls, hot chocolate, doughnuts and sweets.
Gates open: 3pm
Fairground Happy Hour: 4pm–5pm, with all rides £2.50
Children’s fireworks: 5.45pm
Aerial drone show: 6.30pm
Main fireworks: 7.30pm
Please note that there is no bonfire at this event.
3. Family & Dog Friendly Bonfire Night at Quackers Cafe, Thornbridge
Thursday 5th, Friday 6th & Saturday 7th November, 6pm-9pm

Looking for a bonfire night where you can bring the dog? Head to Quackers Cafe at Thornbridge for a cosy evening around the firepit, with sparklers, marshmallows, jacket potatoes and live entertainment, but no fireworks, so your four-legged friends can join in too.
Each ticket includes a sparkler, a giant marshmallow to toast and a jacket potato; adults get chilli and cheese, while children get cheese and beans. Vegan and gluten-free options are available.
There will also be live entertainment, with Alex Eastwood on Thursday and Friday, and Mark Wright on Saturday.
Please note that fountain sparklers are not allowed as they can scare the dogs, and the formal gardens will be closed for the event. Tickets are limited and booking fees apply.
4. Matlock RFC’s Bonfire & Fireworks

Matlock RFC’s Bonfire & Fireworks returns to Cromford Meadows with a spectacular bonfire, children’s fireworks and a main firework and light show. There will also be live music, fairground rides, food and drink, and other entertainment.

Children’s fireworks: 7pm
Main fireworks: 7.45pm
5. Edale Bonfire and Fireworks

Plenty of parking and only 2 minute walk from Edale train station. Gates open at 5:30pm, fire lit at 6pm, fireworks at 7pm. Adults £4 and children £2. Pay on arrival.
6. The Calver Arms Bonfire & Fireworks

Advance tickets £6 per person, under 5s FREE
We’re hoping that The Calver Arms are planning to host a bonfire and fireworks night again in 2026.
From last year: Gates open at 5:30, 6:30 the bonfire is lit, and 7pm is the fireworks display. There will be pizza, a BBQ, bar and light up wands. Advance tickets can be bought from the pub itself, Whites and the garage forecourt for £7 per person (under 5’s are free). Tickets will be available on the gate, subject to availability, for £10 per person.
7. Buxton Rugby Club Bonfire and firework display

Pay on the gate. Adults £6, children £4, under 3s FREE
Live band, BBQ and bar open for a community fireworks event at Buxton Rugby Club.
8. Eyam Bonfire and Firework Display

Head to Eyam and celebrate the burning of the legendary Eyam Rat (a nod to Eyam’s dark history), run by the local school PTFA.
Details from last year: From 5:30pm the entertainment starts in the village square. Then the torch-lit procession of a willow rat, crafted by local school children, will leave the square at 6.15pm, leading you through the village to Hawkhill car park and playing fields to ‘burn the rat’ on a huge bonfire, followed by a fabulous firework display.
Great food on offer including jacket potatoes, delicious farmhouse sausage hot dogs, chilli, locally brewed beers, mulled wine, homemade soup, parkin and of course bonfire toffee.
All fund raised go to Eyam Primary school PTFA and the local community.
